Instructions
1. Set up an area in the room to be the Snack Center. Encourage the children to spend as much time in the Snack Center as desired.2. Plan a snack that the children can prepare easily. Some ideas might be peanut butter and crackers, cold cereal, jelly and toast, cinnamon toast, or anything else the children would enjoy and be able to prepare for themselves.3. Draw and label a recipe rebus for the children to follow and hang it near the Snack Center.4. If the children are going to be making toast, use an automatic toaster, if possible. Supervise closely to prevent any injuries. Or, to simplify the snack, prepare the toast before presenting it to the children.5. Pour dry goods into a bowl using a measuring scoop or place them on a plate for easy accessibility and even distribution.6. Pour liquids into the pitchers.7. Give each child a plastic or blunt knife for the spreadable items.8. Encourage the children to prepare the snack at the snack table.9.
