Instructions

1. Many children this age are no longer taking naps, but their bodies still need quiet time to rest. This activity may help them to relax and get the rest they need.2. Place unrolled paper on the floor. Ask a child to lie down on the paper.3. Trace the outside of the child's body and cut the piece off the roll. Do this for each child.4. Help the children cut out their body shapes.5. Encourage each child to decorate his body shape to look like his "twin." Have mirrors available to help.6. When the "twins" are completed, mount them flat on the ceiling in the space above where the children will be resting. During rest time, each child can look up and see himself looking back down from above.7. Suggest that they imagine going on a trip or to the beach with their twins.
