Materials

large piece of butcher paper

black construction paper

scissors (adult use only)

glue sticks

Instructions

1. Pull chairs away from a low table and put newspapers under the table.
Put a smock on each child.
2. Place a large box on the table and give each child a brush to paint with.
Painting with brushes is good fine motor practice.
3. Set the box aside to dry.
4. When dry, poke a hole through the front of the box and tie a rope
through the hole.
5. Invite the children to use the box as a train and push or pull each other
around in it. This is a great gross motor and dramatic play activity.
