1. Pour white paint into shallow paint dishes. Give each child a piece of
dark blue paper.
2. Encourage the children to dip spools into paint and print "snowflakes" all
over their blue paper.
3. If desired, children can draw a face on a precut snowflake or doily and
glue it on their picture. Or, encourage them to draw, paint, or glue a
snowman at the bottom of their picture.
More to do Language: Encourage the children to dictate a story about where their
snowflakes go.
Music and Movement: Play gentle music and encourage the children to
pretend to be snowflakes floating and twirling in the sky.
Outdoors: On a snowy day, take the children outside to catch snowflakes
on black paper and examine them with a magnifying glass.
