water bottles with spray nozzle

food coloring

Instructions

1. Add food coloring to water inside squirt bottles.
2. Bring the colored water outside and let the children spray the snow.
3. Ask the children if they think the snow is dirty (snow that hasn't been
sprayed with colored water). Bring some snow inside and ask the
children to predict whether or not it is clean. Let the snow melt in a clear
container and check if it is clean or dirty.
