Different scented oils, such as peppermint and vanilla (found in the food sectionof grocery stores)

Instructions
1. Pour different colors of thin paint (thinned tempera or watercolors) into fouror five paint cups.2. Place an eyedropper into each cup and place the cups in the middle of aworktable.3. Give each child a large piece of absorbent art paper. (Do not use fingerpaintpaper or paper with a high gloss.)4. Encourage the children to create works of art by dropping colors onto thepaper with the eyedroppers.5. Ask the children to notice and discuss how mixing two of the colors creates athird color.6. Hang the masterpieces to dry.More to doEncourage the children to drop colors onto coffee filters. Let them dry. Help thechildren cut out green strips of paper to represent a flower's stalk and leaves.Add the coffee filter "flower" to the top.More Art: Use an old phonograph turntable to create "eyedropper spin art."Tape some absorbent paper to the turntable and turn it to the fastest speed. Askthe children to drop the color onto the paper as it spins. Note: The paint willspin out and off the paper. This activity is best done outside on a bright sunnyday. Make sure your little artists wear aprons that cover the front completely.
