Instructions

1. Discuss the changing of the seasons from summer to fall. Write the following original rhyme on chart paper, and teach it to the children.Six Little OwlsThe first little owl said, "Where can the squirrels be?"The second one said, "They're storing nuts in their tree."The third one said, "The geese just flew away!"The fourth one said, "It's colder out today."The fifth one said, "Where did summer go?"The sixth one said, "Fall is here, you know!"2. After the children have memorized the words, choose six children to stand in a row. Each child says a line in the rhyme.

3. As a variation, give the children numeral cards to hold. Distribute them randomly for the children to put in the correct order.More to do Art: Put fall colors of paint on the easel and provide brown and yellow easel paper.
