Instructions

1. Cut out a 5" (12 cm) piece of cardboard.
2. Make white, pink, and brown pompons by wrapping yarn around the piece
of cardboard. When you have wrapped the desired amount, slide the yarn off
the cardboard and tie it in the middle with a matching piece of yarn. Cut the
end loops and fluff. These are the balls of "ice cream."
3. Cut out cones from tagboard using a pattern similar to the one in the
illustration.
4. Roll the tagboard into a cone shape and tape the edges together.
5. Cut six circles in the top of a shoebox just big enough to hold the cones.
6. Put the pompoms into an empty ice cream bucket and the cones into the
cone holder. Use an ice cream scoop to serve up ice cream cones!
7. Help the children make signs for an ice cream shop. If desired, add a cash
register and a place to sit.
