Instructions

1. Teach the children the following original song to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."Snowflakes falling from the sky.I can see you up so high!Little snowflake, falling fast,How I wonder if you'll last...Snowflakes falling from the sky,I can catch you if I try!2. Ahead of time, cover the work surface with newspapers and have the children put on smocks.

3. Give the children sheets of dark-colored paper, and ask them to position the paper vertically.

4. Invite the children to use crayons to draw a small picture of themselves in one of the bottom corners of the paper.

5. Let each child choose a number card from the bag. Have them write that numeral on the paper in the other lower corner of their paper.

6. Demonstrate how to dip the cookie cutter into the silvery paint and count the correct number of snowflakes to print on the paper. Explain that it only takes a small amount of paint, and ask the children to try to keep printing until they reach the correct number without dipping the cutter into the paint again.
