1. Invite five children to sit on each side of the center line.
2. Place an assortment of foam shapes on each side of the line.
3. On the command of "ready, set, shape toss," have the children pick up a
shape, identify it, and throw it over the line onto the other team's side of the
line.
4. Have the children play for several minutes.
5. Help each team count how many shapes are on their side of the line.
6. Invite 10 different children into the game area to have a shape toss.
7. Continue until each child has had several turns.
Teacher - to - Teacher Tip
l An easy alternative is a circle toss. Simply have the children throw foam balls
across the line.
