Shape Glasses Song by Mary J. Murray
(Tune: "Skip to My Lou")
Put on the glasses, look around. (child
walks around the circle wearing
glasses)
Put on the glasses, look around.
Put on the glasses, look around,
Tell us what you see.
I see a _____ looking at me. (child
points to shape in room and says its
name)
I see a _____ looking at me.
I see a _____ looking at me.
That is what I see.
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
l Look through a book with a child and invite her to point out and identify
various shapes on the pages of the book.
l Invite one child to wear the shape glasses and walk around the room pointing
to various shapes. The rest of the children watch and identify the shapes as the
child selects them.
