Instructions
1. Form the numbers 0-9 using oil clay. Do this by rolling the clay between your
palm and the table until it is a thin tube about 1/4 " (6 mm) thick. Cut the tube
into 2" (5 cm) pieces and form the pieces into the numbers 0-9.
2. Write the numbers 0-9 on a sheet of paper and place the paper in front of a
child.
3. Put three clay numbers on top of the paper, out of numerical order. Ask the
child to place the clay numbers in the correct order from smallest to largest.
4. Start by using three numbers adjacent to each other, such as 4, 5, and 6.
Place them in random order, such as 5, 4, and 6.
5. As they master their numbers, give them numbers such as 2, 7, and 9. You
can also remove the number guide as they get more familiar with numbers.
