Instructions

1. In advance, mark the bottom of the cups of the egg carton with the numerals1 to 6. Write each number twice so that all the cups have a numeral.

2. Use a stencil to write the outlines of the numerals 1 to 6 (do not color them in) on a piece of paper. Make at least two of each number. Make a copy for each child.

3. To play, ask the first player to put the die in the egg carton and close it. Demonstrate shaking it gently.

4. Next, the first player opens the carton to see where the die landed.

5. Ask the child to name the numeral on the carton, and then invite her to color in the number on her stenciled numeral sheet.

6. Continue until all the children have had a turn naming and coloring in the numbers.
