3" x 5" index cards

Hole punch

Scissors

Yarn

Transparent tape

Instructions

1. Cut out a large circle from felt. This will be the clown's face.
2. From other colors of felt, cut out several clown hats, eyes, noses, ears,
mouths, and bows (for bow ties or hair bows).
3. Place the large circle on the flannel board. Put the other shapes in front of the
board. Invite children to add features to the face to make a funny clown.
4. Encourage them to change the features to make other funny faces.

Art: Give each child a large paper circle. Provide glue sticks and a variety of precut
construction paper hats, eyes, ears, noses, mouths, and so on. Encourage the
children to add features to their paper circles, forming clown faces.
