Instructions

1. Gather the children into groups of four to six.

2. Give each child a different item to set the table for "dinner." One child gets plates, one gets the cups, and so on.

3. Ask them to figure out which item goes on the table first (placemats). Then, ask how many placemats need to be placed on the table and invite the child to put one at each seat.

4. Continue letting each child take turns setting the table with his item one at each place at the table.

5. When the table is set, sit down together and enjoy dinner. Talk about what each child might be eating at dinner.
