Materials
- Suitcase
- Clothing from winter and summer seasons, such as a boot, shorts, mittens,
- sandals, ear muffs, and sunglasses
What to do
1. Beforehand, put a variety of winter and summer clothing into a suitcase.
2. At group time, present the suitcase. Tell the children that you'd like their help sorting the clothes that are inside. Explain that there are some winter things and summer things all mixed up.
3. Show each item, one at a time, and ask the children to name the season in which they would need that item. Ask them to explain their answer.
4. If desired, sort them into piles.
More to do
- Ask the children which clothes would be appropriate for the current weather outside, or what they should wear to go sledding, water skiing, and so on.
