Brown paper lunch bags

Newspaper

Rubber bands

Orange, yellow, and green paint

Paint containers

Paintbrushes

Black markers

Instructions

What to do
1. Give each child a lunch bag
and have him stuff it with
newspaper.
2. Squeeze the top closed, and
wind a rubber band around it.
3. Have the children paint their
pumpkins with orange, yellow,
and green paint.
4. Let the bags dry thoroughly,
and then give the children
black markers to draw jack-olantern
faces on their pumpkins.

Cooking: Scoop out pumpkin
seeds from a pumpkin, bake them until they are brown, and let the children taste them.
Movement: Have all the children pretend to be pumpkins in a pumpkin patch. Hold hands to
make a vine that connects all the pumpkins.
