old crayons copy paper tapeInstructions
1. Trace and cut numerals out of sandpaper. Tape them onto the table.
2. Peel the paper off the crayons.
3. Give each child a piece of paper and demonstrate how to put the paper
directly on top of a numeral and rub with a crayon.
4. The numeral will appear "magically" on their paper.
5. Talk about the numerals. Ask them what else they could rub, such as leaves,
coins, or fabric. Try out a few materials (if desired) to see what works.
More to do Cut out a large set of numerals (0 to 9) from sandpaper. Place them on a wall at
eye level. Let the children feel the curves and bumps of the numerals.
