3. Make a booklet for each child by stapling together the pages.
4. Give each child a booklet and a rubber stamp of the animal in the song.
Encourage them to make one stamp on the first page, two on the second
page, and so on.
5. Encourage the children to use crayons to draw pictures in their books.
6. Sing the song with the children as they follow along in their booklets.
7. Encourage the children to take their books home to teach their families the
songs.
More to do
Instead of using stamp pads, encourage the children to draw directly on the rubber
stamps using markers. Encourage the children to make stick puppets by cutting
out paper animal shapes and gluing Popsicle sticks to them. With the children,
make up other versions of the song by substituting other animals. The children
can make a class stamp book of the new version.
Dramatic Play: Encourage the children to act out the song by moving like the
animals mentioned. Substitute other animals, if desired.
