Instructions
1. To grab the children's attention, introduce a story by saying, "Here is a
present. It says it is for this class. I wonder what it is."
2. Have the children guess what might be in the box. When using a gift box,
wrap the top and bottom of the box separately and just lift the lid so you
can reuse the box at a later time. (The story time book will be in the box.)
3. Now you have the children's attention and interest. When reading the story,
read with enthusiasm.
4. Another way to grab children's attention is to wear a silly hat. This can be
your Story Hat. This will keep the children's attention.
More to do Wear something to represent the story a red cape or hood for "Little Red
Riding Hood," rabbit ears when reading a rabbit story, and so on. Use your
imagination and be creative. The more fun you have, the more interesting it will
be for the children.
