Small plastic school boxes or small shoeboxes
Quiet items and toys, such as flannel pieces, puzzles, etch-a-sketch, paper and
markers, miniature books, and so on
Instructions
1. Help the children mix tempera paint and water in a paper cup. Stir the mixture
with a tongue depressor until smooth.
2. Add plaster of Paris and continue stirring until smooth. (If necessary, add additional
plaster of Paris until the solution is creamy.)
3. Leave the tongue depressor in the cup to use as a handle.
4. Allow it to dry overnight, or until it is very hard (about six hours).
5. Peel off the paper cup. Use the chalk!
