Instructions
1. Locate a picture approximately 6" x 8" turned horizontally. It could be a picture of anything relating to your current theme.
2. Cut out 16 rectangles from the picture (like windows), leaving part of the picture intact surrounding each rectangle to make a puzzle frame.
3. Glue the remaining picture (the frame), with the rectangles removed, to the bottom of the front of a 9" x 12" envelope.
4. Glue the smaller identical picture above it along with the directions: "Put the puzzle together." Laminate the envelope with the flap open.
5. Glue the 16 rectangles on tagboard and laminate. Cut out each rectangle. These will be the puzzle pieces.
6. Use an X-acto knife to slit the top opening of the envelope.
7. Attach self-adhesive Velcro pieces to the back of each puzzle piece and to each rectangle on the picture on the envelope.
8. To do this activity, a child looks at the smaller picture as a model and places the puzzle pieces, stored inside the envelope, on the envelope to complete the puzzle.
