White construction paper

Instructions

1. Show the children how to fold their paper in half from top to bottom, then fold again, top tobottom. Next, ask them to fold the paper in half from side to side, then side to side once more.

2. Have them unfold their paper and count 16 rectangles within the folds.

3. Invite the children to color all of the rectangles with chalk, markers, or crayons.
