Instructions

1. Set up 10 stations, placing a copy of a famous painting or photograph at each station. Stations should not be in numerical order.

2. Beside each picture, place a rebus note card that asks, "How many _____?" For instance, the question for a painting with children in it might be "How many children?" Because children are probably not reading yet, make rebus note cards with pictures of the items instead of words. In the above example, draw children.

3. Have the children go from station to station, counting the items in the pictures. Ask them to write the answers on a piece of paper.
