Zipper closure plastic bags

A Rainbow of My Own by Don Freeman or The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle

Pencils

Light blue construction paper

Paste

Cotton balls

Instructions

1. Cut take-out boxes along their hinges, separating the tops from the bottoms.
Use the halves that are not divided into compartments as picture frames.
2. Pre-cut art paper so that it will fit into the "frames."
3. Give each child a piece of art paper and markers. Encourage the children to
draw designs on the paper.
4. Help each child glue his artwork onto the flat surface and the sides of a tray.
The box will form a frame.
5. Use the divided compartment halves to display small, three-dimensional items
that the children make with modeling dough or other building materials.
