Materials
- Light blue construction paper
- thick tempera paint or fingerpaint (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet)
- small dishes
- wax paper
What to do
1. Give each child a sheet of blue construction paper. Pour each color of paint into a small dish.
2. Encourage the children to drop a small spoonful of each color of paint closely together on the paper in a rainbow-shaped arch.
3. Show the children how to cover the paint with wax paper and press down and rub to mix the paint together.
4. Peel away the wax paper to see the rainbow.
