Materials

oak tag

pencil

gold wrapping paper

construction paper in various colors

scissors

pink or red paper bags

white glue

red and white design wallpaper

crayons

red marker

Instructions

* Valentine's Day is February 14th.
1. Use oak tag to make patterns for a crown, arm, sleeve, shoe, heart, and
face.
2. Cut out a crown from gold wrapping paper, and a heart, face, and two
arms from pink construction paper.
3. Glue the face on the bottom flap of a paper bag.
4. Glue arms inside the sides of a paper bag.
5. Cut four 1/2 " strips of black construction paper for hair, curling it around
a pencil at the end.
6. Glue each side of the face under the gold crown.
7. Glue gold scraps of paper under the chin area of heart to make a collar.
8. Using a crayon, draw small heart-shaped eyes, a nose, and a mouth on
the face. Make the nose an upside-down heart shape.
9. Cut out shoes from black construction paper and glue under the
bottom of the paper bag.
10. Decorate the queen's dress with stickers, wallpaper hearts, lace doilies,
and red markers.
12. Use the puppet to recite the "Queen of Hearts" nursery rhyme.
