Materials
6-8 simple puzzles
Instructions
1. Take the children outside to a nearby sidewalk.
2. Pour water into each bucket.
3. Give the children paintbrushes and encourage them to "paint" the sidewalk!
Note: Although this seems very simple, children love to watch the color of the
concrete change. They also are using large muscles and developing coordination
and directionality, as they move from top to bottom and left to right.
More to do
Language: Discuss the meanings of dry and wet.
Science: Discuss the concept of evaporation as the children watch the water dry.
