Instructions

1. This is a great spare time activity to do on a day with light rain.
2. Give each child a paper plate. Let them put a few drops of food coloring on
their plates. (This works best when you use a few different colors.)
3. Go outside and have the children hold the plates flat in the rain. The
raindrops will hit the food coloring and splash them across the plate, making
pretty works of rainy day art. Lay flat to dry.
4. Leave plates as is, or have the children enhance their artwork by drawing on
them or adding glitter to them.
5. This activity is inexpensive, and the children enjoy playing in the rain and
creating the artwork.
