* President's Day is celebrated the third Monday of February.
1. With each child, recite the following information:

* (State) is in the United States. (Show a map of the U.S.)
2. Tell the children the following information:
* George Washington was the first President of United States.
* George Washington is called the "Father of our Country." His picture is
on the quarter and dollar. (Show the children the coins).
* Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He freed
slaves during the Civil War. His picture is on the penny (show a penny).
* This is our flag. It is red, white, and blue. It represents our country, the
United States of America.
