Materials

foam sheets (in one color or variety of colors)

scissors

marker

sand and water table

small dinosaurs

Instructions

1. Cut out island shapes from foam sheets. If the concept is counting numbers,
write numerals on each island shape (same color). If the concept is sorting by
color, cut out the island shapes in a variety of colors.
2. Place the dinosaurs in the sand and water table.
3. Ask the children to sort the dinosaurs by color onto the islands, or to place
the correct number of dinosaurs on the islands.
