Materials

Tempera paint in a variety of colors

plastic spoons

white construction or fingerpaint paper

roll of plastic wrap

tape

Instructions

1. Ask each child to spoon two to four colors of paint onto a large sheet of
paper.
2. Help them cover the sheet of paper with a larger piece of plastic wrap and
secure on four sides with tape.
3. Encourage the children to smooth and pat the plastic wrap to mix the colors
together. The children can use a finger to draw on top of the plastic wrap.
4. Remove the plastic wrap and dispose of it.
5. Allow the art project to dry.
6. This project is great for children who do not like to get their hands dirty! It is
also great for teaching what happens when colors blend together.
Tips: Blending different shades of blue makes a great sky background for a
picture; blending different shades of green makes a great grass background for a
picture.
