Pizza Pie!

Materials

felt squares in brown, red, orange, yellow, white, black, and green

craft glue

scissors (adult only)

unused medium-sized pizza box

card stock paper

plastic spinner arrow (available at craft or education supply stores)

markers

Instructions

1. Explain to the children that people used to wash their clothing by hand
using basins of water.
2. Fill both basins with warm water. Add a tiny amount of liquid soap to
one of the basins.
3. Encourage the children to wash each article of clothing in the soapy
water and rinse in the plain water.
4. Help them hang the wet clothes on a clothesline or drying rack.
5. The washing activity will help develop small motor skills, as will
fastening the clothing to the clothesline or rack with clothespins.
6. Encourage the children to role play while washing the laundry.
