Instructions

1. As a way of introducing the sand and water table to the children, fill it with
pompoms. This is a great introduction because it's quiet, not messy, and easy
to establish the table's guidelines.
2. Encourage the children to play with the pompoms, scoop them up, and hide toys.
More to do
Use other items to fill the sand and water table, such as Styrofoam "peanuts,"
large buttons, teddy bear counters, and so on.
Health: Keep in mind that germs are shared more easily at the sand and water
table, so avoid it during peak cold and flu season. Get the children in the habit of
washing their hands before and after using the table.
