Instructions
1. Beforehand, prepare classification cards. Cut out large pictures of the
following classification objects: toys, animals, things that go, and things to
wear. Glue each picture to a piece of construction paper.
2. Put the cards into a container.
3. Read books to the children that give examples of the classification items.
4. Ask the children to sit in chairs in a circle. Then, ask each child to choose a
card from container.
5. Go around the circle, and ask each child to identify the picture and give the
correct classification of that object.
6. Next ask the children to stand up and place their card on their chair. Play
some music as the children march around the circle. When the music stops,
the child takes the card on whatever chair is in front of her and sits down.
