More to do
Games: When the children are out on the playground riding trikes and scooters,
play a simple traffic game. Stand in one spot as the children wheel around. As
they approach you, call out "red light," "green light," or yellow light." The
children should respond appropriately by stopping, continuing, or slowing. If
desired, give tickets to those who run red lights. The children love this!
Outdoors: Provide props for outdoor traffic play, if possible. Make a traffic signal
using a refrigerator box, have police hats and badges available, and provide
notepads for writing tickets.
