Instructions

1. A transition to begin the school year is to start off by making a poster with
your classroom rules on it.
2. You can make an acrostic poem by writing a word vertically such as "team"
and writing a rule that begins with each letter of the word. The lines should
explain the behavior you expect from the children in the classroom. For
example:
Talk using an inside voice.
Each child should do his or her best.
Ask questions politely.
Manners are important.
3. Print out and laminate, if desired.
4. Tell the children how important it is to work as a team. When you have a few
spare moments, review the poster with them and tell them that each line
begins with a letter of the word "team." Display the poster throughout the year.
