Instructions
1. Make "frog" necklaces. Use the illustration below (frog face pattern) to make a
pattern on cardboard. Help the children trace around the pattern on sturdy
paper and cut out. Encourage the children to paint their frog faces. Punch
two holes in each face as shown and string yarn through to make a necklace.
2. Cut out a large letter "F" from green paper, one for each child. Encourage the
children to decorate their letters with frog stickers.
3. Help the children make frog crowns and scepters. Cut out a headband from
sturdy green paper for each child. Then cut out a frog from green paper (see
illustration) for each child. Encourage the children to decorate their frog and
glue to the top of the headband ("crown"). Fit the child's crown to her head
and tape in place. Next, give each child an empty paper towel tube to paint
green. Provide more green paper frogs for children to tape at the top of the
tubes (as shown). Encourage them to decorate their "scepters" with green
crepe paper strips.
4. Have a class frog festival party! Have the children wear their frog necklaces
and crowns. Serve green drinks and "froggy" snacks.
