Instructions

1. Show the children a large refrigerator box and explain that they are
going to help you transform it into a bear cave.
2. Brainstorm with the children about ways to create a bear cave out of
the box. Make sure to first explain what a bear cave is.
3. Provide brown paint and encourage them to paint the entire box. Allow
the box several hours to dry.
4. Invite the children to tear several pieces of black and brown tissue
paper and construction paper into small pieces.
5. Once the box is dry, have the children glue the pieces of tissue paper
and construction paper onto the box to make it look more like a cave.
6. Allow the box to dry overnight. The next day, there will be an inviting
bear cave for the children to explore!
