Instructions

1. Ask half of the children to form a line on the playground. The rest of the children are the audience.

2. Hold up an object. The audience shouts out the name of the shape.

3. The children in line pass the object over their heads or under their legs to the person behind them. (Older children will be able to play this game in an over/under pattern. Younger children may just want to pass it under their legs to the next person.)4. Each child in line identifies the shape as he passes it to the child behind him.

5. When the object reaches the end of the line, the last child holds it up high and shouts out the shape.

6. Repeat the activity several times using other shape objects.

7. Have the audience switch places with the children in line and repeat the activity several more times.More to do Games: Make this a relay game. On the command of "one, two, three, go!" two rows of children pass objects at the same time. When the last person in line receives the object, he races to a designated finish line. The first person to reach the finish line and place the object in a laundry basket wins that round of the game.
