Instructions
1. Prepare the game pieces by cutting cream-colored yarn into 6" long pieces (spaghetti) and red felt into a 6" circle (for sauce). Attach four black dots to the felt circle (children will use these to attach pompom meatballs).
2. To play the game, each child selects a plate. The object of the game is for the children to take turns rolling a die and selecting one portion of the food, based on a number correspondence. For instance, if a child rolls a one, sheputs spaghetti on her plate. If she rolls a two, she puts sauce. If she rolls a three, she puts a meatball on her plate.
3. Explain to the children that they have to roll the foods in order, first the spaghetti, then the sauce, and finally the meatballs.
4. The first player to get the spaghetti, sauce, and all four meatballs (in order) wins.
5. When the children are proficient at the game, start using a six-sided die, and have one and four stand for spaghetti, two and five stand for sauce, and three and six stand for meatballs.
