8 1/2 '' x 11'' piece of paper

Pen or marker

Scissors

8 strips of tag board

Instructions

1. Cut out pictures depicting the opposite concepts of "open" and "closed" in
old books or workbooks. Glue each one to a separate index card.
2. Encourage the children to play a sorting game by placing the pictures that
depict "open" on one side and the pictures that depict "closed" on the other.
3. If desired, back them with felt and use them as a flannel board activity.
