Instructions

1. Talk about driving a car and shifting gears to go slowly, in reverse, or neutral.
2. Establish a "gear-shifting" routine for classroom management. For example,
first gear means to line up slowly, neutral gear means to stand still, and
reverse gear means to stop and sit down.
3. When necessary, tell children it is time to "shift gears."
