Materials

magnetic numerals or small plastic numerals from 1 to 10 (10 of each number)traymagnet board or table10 small boxes

Instructions

1. Place all the numerals in a tray and place the tray on a large table.

2. Ask the children to sort the numerals. Ask, "Which ones are the same? Which ones are different?"3. The children place all the ones together, the twos together, and so on, and then put them into boxes of ones, twos, and so on.

4. Ask them to show you where numerals 1, 2, and so on are located.
