Materials

Instructions

1. Trace large numerals (0 to 9) on black poster board and cut them out.

2. Paint the middle of each numeral to make a road design. Laminate for durability.

3. Place the "number roads" in the block area with some toy vehicles and invite the children to drive their cars on them.

4. Talk about the numbers as the children drive their cars on them. Point out that driving the cars on the numerals is similar to writing the numerals.

5. Talk about how some of the number roads are straight and some are curvy.
