1. Cut construction paper into 6" strips and laminate. Attach Velcro to each end
of the strips to create bracelets.
2. Label the bracelets with each child's name and a numeral between 1 and 5.
3. When each child arrives, fasten the child's bracelet to her wrist. Remind the
children of the number on their bracelets, and explain that they will be used
for something later in the day.
4. Prior to lining up, ask the children to check their bracelets, and when they
hear the number that
matches their bracelet,
they line up.
5. As each child comes to
the line, remove her
bracelet. Link the
bracelets together
(matching numbers) for
everyone to see.
More to do Instead of writing a number on each bracelet, draw objects to represent that
number (such as five circles or three stars).
