contact paper or laminator

Instructions

1. Help the children trace around
their shoes on tagboard and
cut them out.
2. Beginning with the number 1,
write the numeral on each
pair of shoes as well as dots to
represent the number (the pair of
shoes with the numeral 2, for
example, would have two dots).
3. Invite the children to add details to the
shoe cutouts, such as laces, color, and
designs.
4. Cover the shoes with contact
paper or laminate them.
5. Tape the shoes to the floor to
create a line for lining up. Begin at
the doorway with numeral 1.
6. When you call the children to line
up, you can invite them to stand on
a pair of shoes, for example, "Ann,
stand on the number four shoes."
