construction paper numbers 1 to 10 or number cards

What to Do
1. Display the numbered cars in a large open area of the classroom.
2. Invite the children to select a car and identify the
number aloud.
3. Have the children push the car around the
room, being careful not to bump into anything
or anyone.

identifying numbers.

* Use masking tape to create a car "track" for children to follow as they push
their cars around the room.
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
* Display cars 1 to 5 in random order. Can the children move the cars so that they
are in order from 1 to 5?
* Display the 10 cars in random order at the front of the room. Can the
children move the cars so that they are in order from 1 to 10?
