Instructions

* Write the vocabulary words in chalk on a board or in large writing on a
poster.
* Place pictures of windmills where the children can see them.
What to Do
1. Read the children one of the books listed here. Talk with the children about
windmills. Has anyone seen a windmill? Do the children know why windmills
are used? Have they heard about windmills in Holland? What about in the
United States?
2. Discuss the vocabulary words. Ask the children if they can tell you what the
words mean. For words they don't know, explain the meaning. Talk about the
importance of windmills in the future.
3. At the tables, have the children draw a windmill and add any vocabulary
words on the papers below the picture of the windmill. Have them sign their
names.
