Instructions
1. Cut index cards into egg shapes. On each egg, write one nursery rhyme.
Place the "eggs" into a basket.
2. At a transition time, pretend to be Mother Goose (or use the goose puppet)
and reach into the basket and pull out an "egg." Share as many rhymes as
time allows.
3. Let children pick an egg and recite to the class (with help if necessary).
4. After the children know the rhymes well, teach them to say them using the
call-and-response method.
5. Introduce modern nursery rhymes, such as those by Jack Prelutsky and Shel
Silverstein.
